With today's busy lives and irregular eating patterns, many of us find it difficult to keep our bowels healthy.

Lepicol is a three-in-one combination of gentle psyllium husk fibre supplement, live bacterial cultures and inulin.

  • High in fibre
  • Contributes to the maintenance of normal bowel transit

Fibre

The health benefits of fibre are well known, and the current European recommendation for the daily intake of fibre is 25g - something that many of us lack with the modern diet. Therefore, providing high quality fibre supplements in the diet will bring many digestive advantages.

The main fibre source within Lepicol is psyllium husk (Plantago ovata). Psyllium husks are a great fibre supplement as it is able to normalise stool size by being water retentive and, at the same time, forms a soft gel which eases the stool along the lower digestive tract ready for evacuation. Psyllium husks have the advantage of being much gentler than some common fibre supplements (such as wheat or bran), many of which could irritate a sensitive bowel.

Live Bacteria

Lepicol contains five strains of live bacteria. Your digestive tract is home to trillions of gut bacteria that aid in digestion, help prevent a pathogenic bacteria over-growth, and have an impact on your immune system. Keeping a balanced gut microflora helps to ensure that the environment in your digestive tract is stable and goes a long way to aid in your health and well-being.

Live bacteria strains:

Lactobacillus rhamnosus PXN® 54™
Bifidobacterium bifidum PXN® 23™
Lactobacillus acidophilus PXN® 35™
Lactobacillus plantarum PXN® 47™
Lactobacillus bulgaricus PXN® 39™

Strength: Minimum of 120 million CFU/g (1.2 x 108 CFU/g), equivalent to 600 million CFU/5g dose (6.0 x 108 CFU/5g).

Inulin

Inulin is a fibre that is sourced from chicory root. Inulin is not broken down by the body - it is fermented by the live bacteria in the gut to support the growth of live bacteria.
